Coupons:

Coupons are only valid on "in stock" items. Any item that is marked "Sold" or "Out of Stock" does not qualify for the coupon discount. Coupons may not be applied to orders that have already been placed. The coupon code must be entered at the time the order is placed. No Exceptions.

The check-out page contains a field to input the coupon code. The savings will be automatically deducted from the total. Invalid codes used on items not covered by the specific code will not be honored and the order will be shipped without the discount being applied. If your code is not accepted, and you think it is valid, contact us so we can help.

If you choose to return an specimen bought with a promotional code coupon, you will be refunded the price of the specimen less the percentage discount you received on your total order.

Discounts

Generally speaking, Open Adit™ Rocks & Minerals does not offer discounts on the specimens listed in this web site. In some cases, this is because the prices as listed are fair market value and are priced accordingly based upon overall quality, aesthetics and rarity. In other cases, it is because many specimens offered on this web site are consignment items and the prices have been set by the consignor.

That being said, there are two instances where we may be able to offer discounts. First, we will occasionally offer special sales to customers on our e-mail list. If you are not a member of our list, please use our contact form or us to sign up. In addition, we can occasionally offer percentage discounts on multiple-item orders if we are able to. If you are interested in purchasing a number of items at once, the best thing to do would be to contact us with the specimen ID number and see if it is possible to get a discount off the published pricing.

We understand that there are many web sites advertising outrageously overpriced specimens and offering discounts claiming it’s a good deal. Why? Because they control all of the variables. Open Adit™ Rocks & Minerals is not among them. Every specimen is individual. Every specimen is unique. We work hard to have the best of the best available to our customers. We strive to go the extra mile to offer mineral specimens at the best prices possible!
